Wood Borer Control for your home or business. Get rid of unwanted pests today!

There are up to 7 different species of wood borer beetles in Australia. The term 'Wood Borer' covers all of these. Adult beetles lay their eggs in joints and gaps in wood/timber. This generally wont cause an issue outside however, inside your home or business they might infest floorboards, furniture, wooden beams and any other wooden objects. Larvae can seriously weaken the timbers in a building.

Borers are wood boring beetles that are common in the coastal region of Australia. Not to be mistaken for termites, borers are beetles and cause damage to wood or timber in their larval stage. Borer pest control is necessary to avoid any damage to your home or business.

Borers lay eggs on timber and when hatched the pupae burrow their way into the untreated wood. The larvae live in the wood, continuing to eat and tunnel their way through until they reach the adult beetle stage of their metamorphosis. At that stage, they burrow to the surface of the timber and fly out. They leave behind a neat little round or oval hole.

They can attack untreated furniture or the timber structures in a house, including floorboards, bearers, joists and weatherboards, causing stress for homeowners.

Wood borers can cause severe structural damage to your home and economic loss. As soon as you see signs of activity, we recommend immediate borer pest control treatment for a borer infestation. If left untreated, this may lead to structural failure.

You will generally identify that you have a Borer issue if you see small holes in timber work or the wood has become quite powdery. These holes are known as flight holes and are where the adult wood borer beetle exit the timber. This process can take between 2 and 10 years.

Treatment of Wood Borer can vary depending on the location and size of the issue within your home. The process can take some time and it is important to identify the correct treatment from the get go. An inspection is the first step in the journey.
